Covid Tax Season Rules and Procedures

As we navigate these turbulent Covid times and rules as they apply to businesses, we decided to post some information about how we are handling this tax season.

We will be open for in person appointments this tax season. We are comfortable with meeting clients in person. Per the County of San Diego public health guidelines, our staff are all wearing masks at our office and require the same from all clients. Please maintain a six feet distance from others while inside the office.

If you would rather schedule a phone call for your appointment this year, then please send us copies of your tax documents about a week before your planned appointment and then let the office know through email or a phone call that you prefer a phone call tax appointment this year. We can also handle the tax appointment through emails if that is your preference. In either case we can setup access to your client portal so you can upload the documents securely.

If you have a medical condition that precludes you from wearing a mask, then please plan to drop off your documents or email them to us and we will proceed with the tax appointment over the phone or via email. If you are sick or have been sick within two weeks prior to your tax appointment, please do not come in for your tax appointment. We can convert your appointment to a phone call or email, or we can reschedule your appointment. We are doing everything within our control to get through tax season without having to close due to a Covid exposure.

In the office we are wiping down all offices after every tax appointment. The front desk and reception area will be wiped down throughout the day. We will be spraying the entire office with a non-toxic disinfectant every morning and during the day.

If we have an exposure event at the office, we will be forced to close for 10 days. Any client with an appointment during that window will be notified of the closure and be given options to either reschedule or utilizing emails to prepare their tax returns this year.

We appreciate your understanding and flexibility during this tax season. Please reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

David Simpson, CEO
